The Boy Least Likely To - Paper Cuts
I bruise like a peach
I mumble when I speak
I’m in the gutter
Lookin’ at my scars
I’ve always been in love with you.
I used this song in a project for one of my classes a while ago, but I didn’t really listen to it until I heard it driving home today and realized how much I actually identified with this song.
These guys are acquaintances of mine and they are wonderful. I find that I end up identifying with everything they write at one point or another. Great stuff.
Sharks!
Does anybody want to accompany me to see Jaws at Film on the Rocks tonight? I don’t feel like that’s something I can go alone to and still feel okay about myself in the morning.
Holla back!
The 4th of July is a day that I try to spend with my family. Three years ago my brother’s best friend’s younger brother was run over and killed by a truck at a family friends annual block party. He was only 7. I wasn’t there. It was the first year that I decided to spend the 4th with friends instead of family. This year was the first year that the block party has happened since Nicholas died. It was also the first year that my brothers friend, and essentially my other little brother, told his parents he didn’t want to go out of town and hide from the terrible thing that happened three years ago. I am really happy that he came to the party. He spent the 4th having fun and remembering his little brother, not hiding from the burden of his death or from the sadness. We had a chili cook off (I placed third but I totally should have won), an inflatable water slide, tons of fireworks and water guns. It was a good old fashioned family and friend filled 4th of July.
I will post some photos from the day later.

Waiting to leave at my apartment.

infrared allie.

Mountains. SO PRETTY!

on the way out...

Lake in Estes.

Wash Park for breakfast.
we got there for the sunrise but it was terribly cloudy and rainy so there wasn’t much to see. of course it was beautiful nonetheless. it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world, as far as i am concerned. i love this state. we drove around for awhile but the weather (rain) kept us from being able to take photos like we had planned. instead of waiting at least a few hours in the hopes that the sun might come out, we drove back to denver, napped, ate breakfast at wash park and then got fro-yo. all in all, it was a nice morning even though it wasn’t the one we had planned. I will post some photos from my lovely iphone after i post this.
